In-House Lab Tests for Pets
Our in-house lab allows us to run comprehensive diagnostic tests within minutes. This capability eliminates long wait times and gives our veterinarians the information they need to diagnose conditions early, create appropriate treatment plans, and monitor ongoing health issues. Whether your pet arrives for a wellness screening or isn’t acting like themselves, our diagnostic tools play a key role in maintaining their long-term health.
Bloodwork is one of the most important diagnostic tools in veterinary medicine. We can evaluate red and white blood cell levels, measure organ function, assess oxygenation and acid-base status, and perform pancreatitis screening. These tests help us detect infections, anemia, metabolic disease, organ dysfunction, and many other conditions that may not be visible during a physical exam.
A urinalysis gives us valuable insight into kidney function, urinary tract infections, urinary crystals, bladder stones, diabetes, and metabolic disorders. It is also an essential screening tool for senior pets and those being monitored for chronic medical conditions.
When pets struggle with itching, hair loss, chronic skin issues, ear problems, or new lumps, we often begin with simple diagnostic procedures that offer immediate answers. Skin scrapes help identify mites and parasitic infections. Cytology — performed on the skin, ears, or masses — lets us look for bacteria, yeast, inflammatory cells, or abnormalities that guide us toward the right treatment plan.
We offer rapid viral testing for several serious diseases, including parvovirus, feline leukemia virus (FeLV), and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). Early detection helps us begin appropriate care right away and gives pet owners the information they need to make informed decisions about prevention and long-term management.
Because intestinal parasites are often invisible to the naked eye, routine fecal testing is vital. By examining a sample under the microscope, we can identify infections such as roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms. Early detection protects your pet’s health and reduces the risk of transmission within the home.
